Ammeln Valley

  • Valley

The beautiful Ammeln Valley lies at the heart of the western Anti-Atlas, close to the town of Tafraout, the capital of almond trees. It takes the form of a long green corridor that extends at the foot of Jbel El Kest, adorned with cliffs and steep rocks in flamboyant pink hues. The valley is home to around twenty small douars, each with typical architecture, beautifully clinging to the mountainsides and succeeding one another in an exquisite natural setting. The Ammeln, a hospitable Chleuh tribe inhabiting the valley, lead a peaceful life according to the seasons and perpetuate a centuries-old culture. They cultivate various crops, including cereals
